2020 Update

2008 diagnosed with stage 1 triple negative
Chemo, lumpectomy & radiation

2011 diagnosed metastatic
Breast cancer in lungs & bones
First chemo failed within 3 months
Second line was carbo/gemzer/trial PARP

Scans after 6 weeks of treatments NED!
Stayed on that combo for 6 months until my counts could no longer bounce back.

Was able to continue trial PARP until September, 2012 when I had a seizure and found out the cancer moved to my brain.
Brain surgery to remove

End of November, 2012 I started feeling funny in my head again and scan showed growth again in same place...2nd brain surgery
This one left me without feeling in my right foot.
Started Zometa

May, 2013 my right leg felt more off than normal...MRI showed growth again in same place. 3rd brain surgery...have been NED in my head since!!

June, 2016 diagnosed with leukemia

October 30, 2016 received bone marrow transplant from non related donor. Still NED in all of body and blood since then!!

To me, research is so SO important and needs more funding. Many strides have been made, but too many people are still dying from MBC.
